Its a pseudo French town, as the French did try to establish a colony here but were bumped out by the english.

This is the former interior space of a volcano, long since dormant.

This was our last night 'on the road' in New Zealand as the last two nights are in Christchurch and Auckland before we head up to New Caledonia.
