We spent the morning on the tram in the city center just to figure out where we would go shopping for a deal on icebreakers. The tram and the hilarious commentary from the driver made it very enjoyable.
Later in the day we took the city bus to the airport where the rental agency for our van was.
We took this van to Kaikoura, the plan was to swim with the Dolphins.
We found a camp ground and settled in for the night after traveling the dark and winding mountainous roads into Kaikoura from Christchurch.
We found that all the "swim" opportunities were filled: but we could watch. We hiked first.
